Bamako: At least 15 people were killed and several others injured when two buses collided with a truck in Mali. The government gave this information.
Mama Djenepo, secretary general of Mali’s transport ministry, said the accident happened on Tuesday morning between the cities of Fana and Konobougou.
The accident involved two buses going to Mopati which collided with a truck carrying cattle coming from the opposite direction. He said the driver was probably tired and hence the incident took place.
The state government said traffic accidents are common in Mali, especially during the rainy season, but this was the worst accident in the West African country this year. Last year, over 680 people were killed and 8,200 were injured in road accidents.
