UK: 36-year-old man with sword stabs several near London Tube station, arrested

London: On Tuesday, A sword-wielding man was arrested after multiple people were wounded in a terrifying attack on people and police officers in north-east London. The Metropolitan Police suspect that the 36-year-old man attacked members of the public and two officers in the Hainault area.

London: On Tuesday, A sword-wielding man was arrested after multiple people were wounded in a terrifying attack on people and police officers in north-east London. The Metropolitan Police suspect that the 36-year-old man attacked members of the public and two officers in the Hainault area.

According to the report, Police have reported a “serious incident” in which people have been stabbed after a vehicle smashed into a home in the Thurlow Gardens area. Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan said, “This must have been a terrifying incident for those concerned. I know the wider community will be feeling shock and alarm. We do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the wider community.”

The police added that the incident did not appear to be terror-related and they were not looking for further suspects. In a statement on X, he said,”A critical incident has been declared in Hainault. There are station and road closures in place. The Police, Ambulance Service and Fire Brigade are responding. One male detained. I would urge people not to speculate until details are confirmed or post footage on social media.”

Police said the suspect had attacked members of the public and two officers. The force said the incident did not appear to be terror-related and they were not looking for further suspects. Transport for London’s website confirmed Hainault tube station was closed “due to a police investigation in the area”.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, stated that additional reassurance patrols will be deployed in the area and urged the public to refrain from speculation. Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan said, “This must have been a terrifying incident for those concerned. I know the wider community will be feeling shock and alarm.”

He added,”We do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the wider community.””I woke up to loud screams outside and then I saw someone stabbing another child. Then the police came rushing in like crazy. The young man walked off towards the station and I’m not sure what happened there. To be honest I couldn’t really hear what was being said.

The London Fire Brigade said it was called to assist with the incident in Hainault. Footage posted on social media after the incident showed a man wielding a samurai sword.According to unverified posts, the attacker was “waiting outside houses and attacking random residents”.
