The official YouTube and X profile of the Election Commission shared a video featuring Khurrana, emphasizing the importance of voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.
Every year, in light of the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission designates a film actor as a youth icon to encourage voter participation.This year, Ayushmann Khurrana has been bestowed with this significant opportunity.
In the video posted on his official X account on Tuesday, Khurrana urges people across the nation to exercise their voting rights during the various phases of the elections. He stresses that voting is not just a civic duty but a festival of democracy, urging all to take out time on the election day and cast their precious votes.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s appointment as a Youth Icon holds particular significance due to his work in films aimed at dispelling taboos and myths. Previously, actor Rajkumar Rao was also appointed as a National Youth Icon by the Election Commission of India.
