Bengal teacher scam: ED issues notice to TMC youth state president Saayoni Ghosh

Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a notice to Trinamool Congress youth state president and Bengali actress Saayoni Ghosh in the teacher recruitment scam case in Bengal.

The ED has asked Saayoni Ghosh to appear before the agency’s office at CGO Complex, Kolkata on Friday (June 30). Saayoni Ghosh will be questioned about some financial transactions.

Please tell that when the investigation was going on Kuntal Ghosh, Saayoni Ghosh’s name came to the fore. Hence, the central agency has summoned him.

The ED, last month, had arrested Sujoy Krishna Bhadra in connection with this case. According to sources, Bhadra’s name cropped up after former TMC leader Kuntal Ghosh, who is one of the accused in the bribe-for-jobs scam, allegedly named him while being interrogated by probe agencies. Ghosh along with another TMC youth leader Shantanu Banerjee were expelled by the ruling party on Tuesday following their arrest over their alleged involvement in illegal recruitments for teaching and non-teaching posts in government schools in the state. The law enforcement agency had alleged that they were working as Bhadra’s “agents” or middlemen.
