New Delhi: Bhojpuri actor Mohammad Shahid has been arrested by Delhi Police, the actor is accused of demanding extortion of 1 crore. Accused Mohammad Shahid resided in Bhogal, Delhi and runs an office in the name of Star Films in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. Mohammed Shahid aka Star has many names by which he is famous. People also know him by the names of Star, Raj Singhania, Raj, Lallan, Laddan.
Actor Mohammed Shahid is involved in 9 cases of cheating, Arms Act, snatching and extortion in the past. According to the police, on February 27, the complainant Mehruddin Ansari, who lives in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar, lodged a complaint at the police station New Friends Colony on February 25 that he had received a ransom call of Rs 1 crore on his mobile, the extortionist revealed his identity. Told as Fahad and nephew of a scumbag named Ballu, accused in the murder case.
After which a case under FIR 387/507 IPC was registered in PS New Friends Colony and investigation was initiated. The mobile number from which the alleged threat call was received by the police was put on surveillance. The location of the alleged mobile revealed that the culprit used to change his locations continuously. Apart from this, the team got the photos of using the mobile. After which he got location in Jangpura. After which the police caught an actor Shahid who was living in Batla House Jamia Nagar.
Criminal caught from mobile location
On a cursory search, a mobile phone was recovered from his possession. On examination of the phone of Mohd Shahid, it was found that the same mobile phone was being used for extortion and threats to the complainant. On sustained interrogation accused Mohd Shahid disclosed that he runs an office in the name of Star Films in the basement of a building situated in Jamia Nagar.
Since 2014, he is in touch with a young man named Fahad who is in jail in a murder case of Thana Jamia Nagar. Further, she revealed that Fahad asked her to locate a rich person from whom they could extort the money. Accused Shahid found that the complainant is a builder and owner of two public schools. So on February 25, he called and demanded Rs 1 crore from him.
