Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu called upon all Congress-ruled states to adopt electric vehicles. In the 85th National Convention of All India Congress Committee on Sunday, CM Sukhu said that Himachal government is implementing electric vehicle policy to reduce carbon emissions.

He said that the Himalayan flora and fauna would be protected by the use of electric vehicles. The rate of melting of Himalayan glaciers will also be less. Air quality in cities will improve. India’s dependence on oil imports from abroad will also reduce.

Himachal to adopt e-vehicles by 2025: CM

Chief Minister Sukhu said that commercial vehicles running on petrol and diesel would be replaced in a phased manner in the state. The government has planned to replace the entire fleet of HRTC buses in Himachal Pradesh with e-buses in the near future.Himachal will completely switch to e-vehicles by the year 2025.

CM reached the venue of the conference by electric vehicle in Raipur

Chief Minister Sukhu used only electric vehicle till the convention venue to attend the ongoing AICC convention at Nava Raipur in Chhattisgarh.

CM Sukhu also asked other Congress ruled states to take initiative in this direction. He said that Himachal Pradesh would completely switch over to e-vehicles by 2025. This will not only save the environment but also reduce the financial burden on the state exchequer. The topmost priority of our government is to take the state towards green energy by 2025.
