New Delhi: In yet another distressing incident, a woman was shot dead by three people, including a minor boy, in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area on Friday. The woman’s family alleged that the boy used to harass her daughter. The accused shot the woman dead as she opposed her daughter’s relationship with the accused. The incident has created a stir in the area, and the police have initiated a probe.
An alleged video has also surfaced on the internet in which it is being claimed that the accused Mehtab kept the photo of the pistol and bullets on his WhatsApp status a day before committing the crime.

There are reports that the woman, who has been recognised as Sarita Sharma, was shot by the accused while she was inside her house in Jahangirpuri. The accused barged into the woman’s house and shot her. The accused was accompanied by one of his aides. The accused has been identified as Mehtab and is on the run after committing the crime.

The woman’s family alleged that the boy used to follow her 16-year-old daughter when she went for tuition. The girl informed her family about the boy and they lodged a complaint with the police. However, the police did not take any strict action and the girl’s harassment continued, said the family.
The girl was sent away to stay in a hostel and the accused minor boy had come to the woman’s house to talk to her.
When the woman refused to talk to him, the boy shot her and fled from the spot. She was rushed to the Babu Jagjivan Ram hospital, where she was declared dead.
Meanwhile, sources said the teenager boy and the girl had tried to run away from their homes twice in the past. Before the shooting, the boy had posted a video of himself firing a pistol on his Instagram page. In another story, the boy posted a video of cartridges along with a pistol. Police said that a case has been registered after the woman’s murder, and further investigation is on to catch the accused.
