Siwan: In Bihar, the second bridge has collapsed within four days. Fell on Gandak Canal between Patedha and Garoli Village of Maharajganj Subdivision of Siwan. Let us tell you that suddenly on Saturday morning one of the legs of the bridge started sinking. Within no time the bridge sank into the canal. After the accident, traffic between the two villages has been disrupted. There was a commotion in the area. People are raising questions on the construction work of the bridge.
Villagers say that Bihar Government got this bridge constructed 29 years ago. The department had got the canal cleaned a few days ago. Also, the soil from the canal was cut and thrown on the dam of the canal. The villagers claim that due to this the foundation of the bridge became weak. Today the bridge broke, causing the bridge to fall into the canal. After the incident, the administration has formed an investigation team.

The bridge built on the Bakra River collapsed on June 18
Let us tell you that on June 18, the bridge built on Bakra River in Sikti Block of Araria District had collapsed even before its inauguration. The 182 meter bridge was built in three parts. Two parts along with two feet ended up in the river. The cost of this bridge, built under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Nirman Yojana, was Rs 7.79 crore. The construction of this 182 meter long bridge started in 2021. Initially it was costing Rs 7 crore 80 lakh, but later due to changing the course of the river and approach road, the total cost increased to Rs 12 crore.
