BJP releases its manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’ in presence of PM Modi for Lok Sabha Polls 2024

New Delhi: On Sunday, for the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its manifesto, Sankalp Patra. The ‘Sankalp Patra’ was released in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders at the party’s headquarters in the national capital.

While speaking at the manifesto launch event, PM Modi termed the manifesto as ‘Vksit Bharat ka sankalp’. He said it is Modi’s guarantee that the free ration scheme will continue for the next 5 years. The manifesto, named ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ has elements to support the roadmap for “visit bharat”, and focuses deeply on welfare and development, things that have been highlighted throughout its poll campaigning.

PM Modi also said,”Now we will work towards reducing the electricity bill of crores of families to zero and creating earning opportunities from electricity. We have implemented the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme”. Notably, the launch coincides with the birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar, a towering Dalit leader and architect of India’s constitution.

BJP President Nadda said, “Today is the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar, we pay tribute to him. We all know that he fought for social justice. Following his path, BJP has always fought for social justice.” Further, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while speaking during the occasion also hailed ten years of the Modi government and said under the leadership of PM Modi, the BJP has fulfilled all its promises made to general public.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said, “I am happy and satisfied that under the leadership of PM Modi, we have fulfilled all our promises made to the people of the country. Through its Sankalp Patra, BJP presents the roadmap for a self-respecting and capable India and also presents its commitment to the welfare and development of every section of the society in the country.”

Before the launch, PM Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Deen Dayal Upadhyay. The BJP government has fulfilled most of its core ideological promises, including construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya and abrogation of Article 370, so all eyes are on how the ruling party’s larger cultural and Hindutva agenda is reflected in the manifesto.

The manifesto focuses primarily on youth, women, farmers and the poor – the four “jatis” that Modi often refers to – and these are the highlights of its election promises. The BJP formed a 27-member manifesto committee led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, which met twice to discuss its contents after the party carried out several exercises, including sending vans across the country to get public feedback and running social media campaigns.
