New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to launch its manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra’, today, aligning with the birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar. This crucial document will outline the party’s vision and agenda for the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls 2024, with top party leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President JP Nadda expected to be present at the unveiling ceremony.
The release of the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ on the revered leader B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary adds significance to the event. Ambedkar, an eminent figure from the Dalit community and the architect of the Indian Constitution, is celebrated for his contributions to social justice and equality.
The manifesto is anticipated to focus on a wide range of issues, including welfare schemes, development objectives, and a roadmap for a “viksit Bharat” (developed India). Sources suggest that the BJP’s agenda will also highlight the concept of ‘cultural nationalism’.
With a commitment to the well-being of all sections of society, the manifesto is likely to underscore initiatives for youth, women, farmers, and the economically disadvantaged—themes that Prime Minister Modi has frequently addressed.
Amid discussions on the census and delimitation processes, the BJP is expected to touch upon the concerns of southern states regarding delimitation. The party is likely to reiterate its support for “one nation, one election” and may include plans for implementing the Uniform Civil Code, particularly in states governed by the BJP.
The BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ has been crafted through an extensive process, with a 27-member manifesto committee led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. This committee met multiple times to deliberate on various aspects of the manifesto. Additionally, the party engaged in nationwide exercises, including mobile vans and social media campaigns, to gather inputs and suggestions from the public.
