Campaigning for civic polls halts in Uttar Pradesh, polling in 38 districts on May 11

Voting for the second phase of the Uttar Pradesh municipal elections will be held on May 11 in 38 districts. And on May 13, the results of this election will come. Election campaigning for the second phase was banned at 6 pm on Tuesday.

In Uttar Pradesh, all the political parties have given their full strength regarding the municipal elections. The election campaign for the second phase for Municipal Corporation, Municipality and Nagar Panchayat in the body elections ended on Tuesday evening. The second phase of voting will be held on the coming Thursday i.e. 11 May 2023. A public holiday has been declared on the day of voting. In this way, on May 11, government and private institutions of the polling districts will remain closed.

Voting will be held in these nine mandals in the second phase

The second phase of elections will be held on May 11. This election is being conducted on seven municipal corporations, 590 municipal wards. Along with this, there will be 95 chairman municipal council, 2551 member municipal council ward, 268 chairman nagar panchayat and 3495 members for the post of nagar panchayat. This election is being conducted for 7006 posts in 370 civic bodies and 6636 wards. In this phase, 1,92,32,004 voters will be able to exercise their vote.

In the second phase, polling will be held in 38 districts of the state. For this, preparations have almost been completed in Meerut, Bareilly, Aligarh, Kanpur, Chitrakoot, Ayodhya, Basti, Azamgarh and Mirzapur divisions. Lok Sabha elections are to be held in the year 2024. In such a situation, all the political parties are making efforts from head to toe in this body election.

Of these, the number of male voters is 1,02,16,992 and the number of female voters is 90,15,012. In this phase, the candidates have put their full strength for campaigning. All the political parties and candidates tried their best to reach out to all the voters. On the other hand, the observers have also taken charge in the districts.

Get webcasting done at sensitive polling stations: Election Commissioner

For the second phase, State Election Commissioner Manoj Kumar has said that according to the requirement of sensitive, hypersensitive and hypersensitive plus polling stations, videography, web casting should be done. Action will be taken against the concerned personnel for negligence. In addition to the police force deployed at all the centres, police force should be deployed if needed.
