Telangana: On Monday, ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Madhavi Latha, BJP candidate from Hyderabad Lok Sabha Constituency was provided ‘Y+’ category security of CRPF by the Centre, sources said. According to the sources, she has been provided the security cover only for Telangana.
K Madhavi Latha will fight on a saffron party ticket to take on Owaisi, one of the most vocal critics of the BJP. Earlier, Madhavi Latha launched a scathing attack against the Congress party for the promises made to the people in manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
She has the image of being a strong Hindutva proponent. Latha pointed out that during the 2023 assembly elections, the Congress party had also released a manifesto, but they failed to fulfill the promises they made.
Madhavi Latha, who had worked with Muslim women groups on triple talaq, vows to fight to win the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat this time. Latha is the first female candidate to be fielded by the saffron party in Hyderabad. She is a trained classical dancer and a cultural activist.
Madhavi Latha is also chairman of Hyderabad’s Virinchi Hospital, founded by her husband Vishwanath. She is also a religious speaker and often speaks on Hindu causes. Voting across all 17 seats in Telangana will be conducted in a single phase on May 13. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the BRS won nine of 17 seats, while the BJP and Congress bagged four and three seats, respectively.
