Chardham Yatra stopped due to bad weather conditions in Kedarnath and Badrinath

In view of strong winds, heavy rains and snowfall in Uttarakhand, the Char Dham Yatra going to Kedarnath has been banned by the Srinagar Police for the time being.

Srinagar: Due to bad weather and snowfall in Kedarnath and Badrinath for several days, the risk of landslide has increased. As a precaution, passengers are being stopped from traveling further. On the other hand, arrangements have been made to stay in Srinagar for the passengers who have reached Srinagar.

Passengers have been appealed to stop their journey till the weather clears up.

Due to bad weather, landslides are also happening at many places and in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, heavy mountain debris has come on the road, due to which the Badrinath highway has been closed due to debris coming from the hill in Chamoli area. The difficulties of pilgrims going to Char Dham from other states of the country including Delhi-NCR, UP, Rajasthan have also increased.

Intermittent snowfall is continuing in Kedarnath Dham for the last 12 days. This morning i.e. on 30th April also the weather is bad. An alert has also been issued on bad weather. Due to bad weather in Uttarakhand, pilgrims are facing difficulties after rain and snowfall.

Advisory issued in 9 languages
The Meteorological Department has issued advisory in 9 languages ​​for the pilgrims coming from all the states of the country. It has been appealed to the passengers that they should start the journey only after taking the update of Uttarakhand weather.

In view of the heavy snowfall in Kedarnath, the Rudraprayag district administration has appealed to the travelers to stay at safe places. Uttarakhand government has issued advisory in 9 Indian languages ​​(Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi and Odia) regarding Char Dham Yatra.
