Chief Minister Yogi forms 3-member judicial commission to investigate Atiq, Ashraf killings

Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appointed a three-member judicial commission to investigate the murder of Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf. The state has been put on high alert and senior officials led by Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad are going to Prayagraj to monitor the situation. According to officials, the three-member panel will have to submit its report in two months to the state government.

Officials said that 17 policemen deployed for the security of Atiq and his brother have been suspended. Meanwhile, internet has been snapped in Prayagraj while some reports said that BJP workers burst crackers in Kanpur. Yogi’s minister Swatantra Dev Singh’s reaction to the murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf first came to the fore. In the Yogi government, Swatantra Dev Singh, a minister, said without taking his name that the merit and demerits are accounted for in this birth.

Shortly after the murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, SP President Akhilesh Yadav attacked the Yogi government. He said that crime has reached its peak in UP and the morale of the criminals is high. When someone can be killed by firing openly amidst the security cordon of the police, then what about the safety of the general public. Due to this, an atmosphere of fear is being created among the public, it seems that some people are deliberately creating such an atmosphere.

3 people arrested
At least three people have reportedly been arrested. The assailants have been identified as Lavlesh Tiwari, Sunny and Arun Maurya. The three posed as media persons and were seen firing from a close range at Ahmad and his brother who fell to the ground. Police soon overpowered the assailants. According to sources, a 15-member team has reached the site.

Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav has targeted the murder of Atiq and Ashraf. He has said that the order of the Chief Minister will be mixed in the soil. Atiq Ahmed’s petition in the Supreme Court – Demand for security due to the possibility of murder in police custody – no relief, then fake encounters and planned murders in the circle of police are bound to happen. No wonder Atiq’s remaining sons were also killed.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also came in front of the media and attacked the UP government on the murder of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed. Gehlot said that the country is watching what is happening in Uttar Pradesh. If there is no rule of law, then these incidents can happen to anyone. What happened in UP is easy but maintaining law and order is difficult.
