CM Yogi led-govt removes Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board chairperson Renuka Mishra over paper leak case

Lucknow: On Tuesday, CM Yogi Adityanath led-government of Uttar Pradesh has removed UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board chairperson over paper leak case. The government has removed Renuka Mishra from the Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board.

Lucknow: On Tuesday, CM Yogi Adityanath led-government of Uttar Pradesh has removed UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board chairperson over paper leak case. The government has removed Renuka Mishra from the Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board.

More than 48 lakh candidates had participated in more than 60,000 constable recruitment posts in Uttar Pradesh, which was held on February 17 and 18 across the state. The state government on February 24 cancelled the police constable recruitment examination and said a re-examination would be conducted within six months.

Renuka Mishra, the chairperson has been replaced with IPS officer Rajeev Krishna, days after the UP police constable recruitment examination was cancelled following allegations of a question paper leak.

The government also said that a Special Task Force (STF) would probe the paper leak allegations. On February 23, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a decisive move by announcing the cancellation of the recruitment examination intended to fill 60,244 constable positions within the UP Police force.

The examination was conducted on February 17 and 18. Earlier last month, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also said that “there can be no compromise with the sanctity of examinations” and assured strict action against “unruly elements”.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that the exam be conducted again within six months. He said in a post in Hindi on X,”There can be no compromise with the sanctity of examinations. Those who toy with the hard work of youngsters will not be spared under any circumstances. Strictest action is certain to be taken against such unruly elements.”
