Congress Gourav Vallabh joins BJP hours after quitting Congress in Delhi

New Delhi: On Thursday, Gourav Vallabh, Congress national spokesperson, joined the BJP at its Delhi headquarters, hours after quitting Congress, and calling it "directionless". Anil Sharma, ex Bihar Congress president also joined the BJP in the presence of its national general secretary Vinod Tawde in Delhi.

New Delhi: On Thursday, Gourav Vallabh, Congress national spokesperson, joined the BJP at its Delhi headquarters, hours after quitting Congress, and calling it “directionless”. Anil Sharma, ex Bihar Congress president also joined the BJP in the presence of its national general secretary Vinod Tawde in Delhi.

Eariler in the day, Gourav Vallabh, in a letter to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, called Congress party ‘directionless’, and cited reasons for his exit such as the caste census, and said that he cannot raise ‘anti-Sanatan’ slogans.’

On social media platform X, Gourav Vallabh wrote,”I do not feel comfortable with the directionless way in which the Congress party is moving forward today. I can neither raise anti-Sanatana slogans nor abuse the wealth creators of the country. I am resigning from all posts and primary membership of the Congress party.”

In 2023, He contested the Rajasthan Assembly elections from the Udaipur constituency . However, the BJP candidate won comfortably by a margin of over 32,000 votes. He made his electoral debut in 2019 from Jamshedpur East in Jharkhand, where he secured over 18,000 votes and finished third after then chief minister Raghubar Das and Saryu Roy.
