In a significant move against illegal mining activities, the licences of 13 stone crushers in Rupnagar have been cancelled, as announced by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gulneet Khurana on Monday.

The decisive action follows a detailed report submitted by the district police to the Deputy Commissioner (DC), highlighting the involvement of these crushers in unauthorized mining practices. SSP Khurana disclosed that criminal cases were registered against the offenders, and subsequently, the department concerned was urged, through the DC, to revoke their licences.
