Delhi BJP Gears Up: Unveils List of 30 Potential Candidates

As the Lok Sabha elections loom, Delhi’s political landscape is abuzz with preparations. The Delhi BJP’s election committee has diligently compiled a roster of about 30 potential candidates for the city’s seven Lok Sabha seats. This crucial list has been formally submitted to the national leadership, including party chief J. P. Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah, during a meeting at the BJP headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg.

While the Congress, in alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is yet to disclose candidates for three of the seven seats, the BJP is strategically withholding its candidate names for another month. Notably, the party contemplates introducing fresh faces by replacing its current three sitting MPs.

Among the potential candidates, speculations surround the inclusion of Bansuri Swaraj, the daughter of the late former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj. Currently, all seven Lok Sabha seats in the Capital are under the BJP’s stronghold.

The BJP’s meticulous approach includes an outreach program where party workers collect feedback from the public on the performance of current MPs. The compiled feedback forms the basis of the list of potential candidates.

On the other side, Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely declared that his party is gearing up to unveil a comprehensive 50-point manifesto for the Capital within the next week. Despite contesting only three seats, the manifesto aims to address issues impacting the entire city, focusing on the concerns of the youth, farmers, and women. The document is expected to encompass the agenda of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, aiming to bring justice to the downtrodden and exploited sections of society.
