New Delhi: Today,Former Congress leader and great-grandson of independent India's first Indian Governor-General C Rajagopalachari, CR Kesavan has joined the BJP. Kesavan had recently resigned from the Congress party.

New Delhi: Today,Former Congress leader and great-grandson of independent India’s first Indian Governor-General C Rajagopalachari, CR Kesavan has joined the BJP. Kesavan had recently resigned from the Congress party. After joining the BJP today, Kesavan said, “I want to thank you for joining the world’s biggest political party-BJP, especially on a day when our PM is in Tamil Nadu.

The former Congress leader said that PM Modi’s people-centric policies, corruption-free governance and reform-based inclusive development agenda have transformed India from a fragile economy to the world’s 5th largest economy. CR Keshavan had sent his resignation letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

CR Kesavan wrote in his resignation letter that he has been working for the party for the last two decades but now the values ​​which motivated him to work for the party have gone down. Kesavan wrote that he is not comfortable with the way the party is currently seen.

Kesavan wrote that for this reason he did not take responsibility of the program for the recent national level party, nor did he participate in the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Kesavan wrote that now the time has come for him to move forward on a new path and hence he is resigning from the primary membership of the party.

Kesavan has also sent his resignation to the trustee of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Charitable Trust. Kesavan has currently denied joining any other party. Although he wrote that he himself does not know what is hidden in the coming times.

CR Kesavan joined Congress in 2001. During this time he also held the post of Vice President of Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development. CR Kesavan thanked Sonia Gandhi and also thanked his great grandfather C Rajagopalachari.
