The Delhi government had suggested three dates for the session of MCD – February 3, February 4 and February 6. In this, LG has given approval on the date of 6th February. The MCD had proposed February 10 to convene a session of the House to elect the mayor, sources said on Monday.

The mayor could not be elected when the House met on January 6 and January 24 after the sessions were adjourned amid acrimonious exchanges between AAP and BJP councillors.

Aam Aadmi Party’s mayoral candidate Shaili Oberoi has approached the Supreme Court on Thursday demanding time-bound mayoral election, which has been listed by the court for hearing.
