New Delhi: In a distressing incident unfolded from national capital, authorities have reported the reprehensible assault of an 11-year-old boy in the busy Karol Bagh area of central New Delhi. Police officers disclosed that over the span of two months, the minor faced serial abuse within the confines of a deserted medical facility by a man who, unbeknownst to the boy’s family, was their neighbor.
The matter came into limelight on December 26 when the victim’s family members found him bleeding from his private parts. When they asked the child about the bleeding, he did not reveal his ordeal out of fear. The boy was on December 30 admitted to a private hospital in central Delhi as his bleeding did not stop.
The boy, gripped by fear, remained silent about his disturbing experiences. But the victim’s family members kept on asking the child if anyone did anything with him, he broke down one day and narrated his ordeal. He told his parents that the accused had been sodomising him and torturing him since November. After hearing this, the victim’s family members lodged a complaint against the accused on January 5.
After the complaint was filed on January 5, authorities took immediate action, resulting in the arrest of the 48-year-old man allegedly responsible for the gruesome acts. The formal registration of the complaint triggered an investigation which revealed disturbing facts. The suspect was taken into custody and is currently facing serious criminal charges.
The detailed preliminary investigation pointed to a pattern of persistent physical and sexual abuse of the child by the accused. It was revealed that the accused on December 27 last year took the boy to the abandoned clinic, beat him up with his leather belt, forced him to smoke a cigarette and sexually assaulted him due to which he suffered injuries to his private parts. The accused also singed the minor with cigarette butts, they added.
“Several burnt cigarette butts were found at the clinic where the alleged torture and sexual assault took place for two months,” an officer was quoted as saying by sources. The child was given counselling and his statement was recorded, police said.
