Dono bhai-behen ek taraf aur…’: Smriti Irani Challenges Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi to Debate on National Issues

Union Minister Smriti Irani has issued a bold challenge to Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi, inviting them to a televised debate on any pressing national issue of their choosing. Irani, contesting from Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi, asserted that a BJP spokesperson, Sudhanshu Trivedi, would provide clear answers to the Gandhis’ arguments.

“I challenge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi to debate with the BJP on any channel, with any anchor, at any place and time, on any issue they choose (Dono bhai-behen ek taraf aur BJP ka ek pravakta ek taraf, doodh ka doodh, paani ka paani ho jaayega)”. It’ll be a clear match-up: the siblings on one side, and a BJP spokesperson on the other. Sudhanshu Trivedi represents us, and he’s more than capable of providing answers. Everything will be crystal clear,” said Smriti Irani, who is running for election in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi, in a statement to the media.

The challenge comes after Priyanka Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not talking about big issues. Irani’s win over Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections was a big deal as it ended the Gandhi family’s control in Amethi.
