Nepal: On Sunday, The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said that an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 has been felt in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The earthquake with epicentre in Dhading district was recorded at 7:39 am, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre.
According to the information, Earthquake tremors were also felt in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. However, There are no reports of casualties from the earthquake. The quake was at a depth of 13 kilometres, said the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
The tremors of earthquake were also felt from Delhi to Bihar. According to the Seismological Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was in Dhading, about 55 km west of Kathmandu.
According to government’s post-disaster needs assessment (PDNA) report, Nepal is the 11th most earthquake-prone country in the world . In 2015, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake and subsequent aftershocks killed around 9,000 people.
