Kerala: On Tuesday, Former Kerala MLA and CPI leader R Ramachandran passed away while undergoing treatment for liver-related ailments. He died at a private hospital in Kochi on Tuesday morning.

Former Karunagappally MLA and CPI leader R Ramachandran passed away in Kochi

Kerala: On Tuesday, Former Kerala MLA and CPI leader R Ramachandran passed away while undergoing treatment for liver-related ailments. He died at a private hospital in Kochi on Tuesday morning.

He was elected MLA from Karunagappally in the 2016 assembly elections. Public can pay homage to the leader at CPI Kollam district committee office, and Chavara and Karunagappally mandalam committee offices. He had also contested from this constituency in the recent assembly elections.

He joined active politics through the student wing. He also served as CPI’s Kollam district secretary for a long time. He also served as the LDF convenor. He also served as CPI Karunagappalli Taluk Committee Secretary and later Chavra Mandalam Secretary.

He became the District Secretary of the CPI in Kollam in 2012 and became a member of the CPI State Executive Committee. He worked as LDF convenor. Between 2006-11 he was the Chairman of Kerala Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (Kerala CIDCO).
