Nepal Landslide: Heavy rains have caused havoc in Nepal these days. Landslides have started occurring here due to the rains since last several days. Due to which four people are reported to have died so far. It is being told that due to heavy rains many rivers are in spate and have been flooded. Due to which many coastal areas have been flooded and landslides have started occurring.
It is being told that Tamor River has been blocked due to flood in Sinsawa River of Faktanglung Rural Municipality of Taplejung District. It has been raining heavily in the area since Wednesday. It is being told that due to flood in the river, landslide has also occurred in Sinsawa river. This river flows near Tapethok, the administrative center of Phaktangalung Rural Municipality.
According to media reports, at least four people of the same family died due to landslides caused by incessant rains on Thursday night in Taplejung district of eastern Nepal. According to officials, a house was hit by a landslide late night in Phattanglung Rural Municipality-2, Tingdu of Taplejung district, about 580 km from the capital Kathmandu. Due to which four members of the family died.
Rural Municipality Chairman Rajan Limbu said, “The landslide took the lives of four people of the same family, as the house collapsed due to heavy rain late in the night. Two other people were also injured during this period. Heavy rain since Thursday. Due to which landslides are taking place. Currently, rescue operation is going on, two houses have been washed away due to the landslides.
Let us inform that earlier on Wednesday, a wooden bridge was damaged due to sudden flood in Taplejung area after heavy rains. Also, due to this, Tamor river was blocked for some time. After which the flow of the river stopped, due to which no major damage was caused. On the other hand, flood and inundation caused by heavy rains damaged three houses in the nearby district Sankhuwasabha and crops worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed.
