New Delhi: The government, on Wednesday, unveiled a roster of 18 bills for discussion during the Winter Session of Parliament, commencing next week. Notable among them are two bills aiming to extend the provisions of the women’s reservation act to Jammu and Kashmir and Puducherry, along with three bills aimed at replacing criminal laws.
In a move to address representation concerns, the government is set to introduce a bill to increase the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly’s strength from 107 to 114. Additionally, the Lok Sabha Secretariat’s bulletin highlights the government’s inclusion of the first batch of supplementary demands for grants for the fiscal year 2023-24 in the agenda. These demands are slated for presentation, discussion, and voting during the parliamentary session.
The Winter Session of Parliament is scheduled to commence on December 4 and will run until December 22.
