Heat Wave alert in Delhi-NCR for Today as mercury soars up to 45°C in some areas

New Delhi: There is severe heat in many states of the country including Delhi. Heat wave has increased the effect of heat. On the other hand, talking about the maximum temperature, today in some parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Delhi the maximum temperature rose from 40 to 44 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in the national capital Delhi was also recorded above 44 degrees. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to remain alert. At the same time, a heatwave alert has been issued in Delhi-NCR for Tuesday as well.

The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning, three notches below normal. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the relative humidity in the city was recorded at 50 per cent at 8.30 am. The Meteorological Department has forecast mainly clear sky and strong wind in Delhi during the day. The department has predicted the maximum temperature to be recorded around 42 degree Celsius in the national capital on Sunday.

Dr. Naresh Kumar, Senior Meteorological Department scientist, told sources on Friday that, “We have issued a heat wave warning for areas of southern Uttar Pradesh, western Rajasthan and northern Madhya Pradesh between May 20 and May 22. The next 2 The temperature in these states can reach 45 degree Celsius in 3 days.

However, the good news is that due to the activation of Western Disturbance, there may be rains and thunderstorms at many places in North West India including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi during May 23 to 25. This will give some relief to the people from the scorching heat.
