Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district arrested a suspected hybrid terrorist affiliated with JeM identified as Rohail Abdullah. Missing from home since December 8, Abdullah was apprehended in Naina Batapora village. The security forces seized significant arms and ammunition, including one AK-56 Rifle, 2 magazines, 60 rounds, 5 Chinese grenades, a pistol glock, magazine, and 26 rounds from his possession. An investigation into the matter is underway.
In a separate incident on Friday, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army’s 48 Rashtriya Rifles recovered arms and explosives, including four remote IEDs, six UBGL grenades, five detonators, four fuses, and other items in the Dara Peer Makal area of Thanamandi in Rajouri district. A case was registered, and an investigation initiated.
Notably, in November, a joint operation by the J-K Police and the Indian Army intercepted a box dropped by a drone in the Palanwallah village near the Line of Control. The recovered items included nine grenades, one pistol, two magazines, 38 rounds of ammunition, and an IED fitted with batteries. Another incident in the same month saw the Jammu Police discovering an IED planted in a tiffin box on the Sidhra Narwal highway stretch of Jammu.
