Hydroelectric project case: CBI raids former J-K Governor Satyapal Malik premises in Delhi

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched raids the residences of former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik, as part of its probe into alleged corruption related to the award of contract for the Kiru Hydroelectric Project. According to the information, CBI raids are going on at a total of 30 places including Malik's hideouts in Delhi.

Jammu and Kashmir: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched raids the residences of former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik, as part of its probe into alleged corruption related to the award of contract for the Kiru Hydroelectric Project. According to the information, CBI raids are going on at a total of 30 places including Malik’s hideouts in Delhi.

Apart from Malik’s premises, other places being raided include that of his former press advisor, three Chartered Accountants, and others. The raids are being conducted as part of the investigation into alleged corruption related to the award of Kiru hydroelectric project contract in the UT.

The case is said to be related to alleged corruption in awarding civil works of the Rs 2,200 crore Kiru Hydro Electric Power Project (HEP).The CBI had said earlier, “The case was registered on allegations of malpractices in award of the contract worth approximately Rs 2,200 crore of civil works of Kiru Hydro Electric Power Project (HEP) to a private company in the year 2019.”

The agency has registered a case against former chairman of Chenab Valley Power Projects (P) Ltd Naveen Kumar Choudhary and other former officials MS Babu, MK Mittal and Arun Kumar Mishra and Patel Engineering Ltd.
