I.N.D.I.A bloc meeting postponed because of top leaders decide to skip

New Delhi: On Tuesday, I.N.D.I.A alliance meeting, which was scheduled to be held tomorrow, has been postponed because of the non-availability of top regional leaders including West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi chief Akhilesh Yadav.

The development came after reports that some key members of the bloc, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin were unlikely to attend the crucial meeting to discuss the future course of action to fight the Bharatiya Janata Party in upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. However, a meeting of the Parliament floor leaders of the Opposition bloc will take place at 10 Rajaji Marg, the official residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said his party chief has no plan to attend the meeting. After the Congress was routed in the Hindi heartland states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, rumblings have started among the I.N.D.I alliance partners that the party stalled activities of the bloc and kept regional parties out of campaign.

When asked if the decision was taken after the declaration of assembly poll results in four states, the spokesperson said there was no information about the meeting earlier.Chaudhary said, “The Samajwadi party national president has no plans to attend the meeting of the INDIA bloc tomorrow. Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav or any other leader authorised by the national president will go for the meeting.”

Earlier, the leader of the Opposition I.N.D.I.A Block was prepared to complete the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi on December 6. After the announcement of the results of the recent assembly elections in four states, on Monday, the SP chief said that it was not disappointed and hoped that the results in 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be different.
