IMD predicts heatwave increase rapidly across the country, weather to be clear in Delhi-NCR today

New Delhi: Delhi-NCR will have partly cloudy skies today but no rain is expected. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature in Delhi today is likely to reach 35 degrees Celsius. While the minimum temperature is expected to be close to 16 degrees Celsius.

New Delhi: Delhi-NCR will have partly cloudy skies today but no rain is expected. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature in Delhi today is likely to reach 35 degrees Celsius. While the minimum temperature is expected to be close to 16 degrees Celsius.

According to the IMD, the maximum temperature recorded in Delhi was 34.8 degrees Celsius on April 9. Which was normal. While the minimum temperature was recorded at 15.4 degrees Celsius. Which was about 5 degrees Celsius lower than the normal temperature.

The IMD said in its weather bulletin that thundershowers (wind speed 30-40 kmph) may occur at isolated places in Kerala and Mahe today and lightning is likely in Odisha. Uttar Pradesh is also expected to have generally dry weather today. In the next one-two days, the weather in UP is likely to get hotter and strong winds (wind speed 20-25 km per hour) are expected.

The highest maximum temperature in UP was recorded at 37.6 degree Celsius in Sultanpur and Kanpur (IAF). The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded in Bareilly and Meerut at 14.8 degrees Celsius.

According to the IMD, there is no possibility of any special weather activity in most parts of the country. During the next 3 to 5 days, the maximum temperature is likely to increase gradually by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius over most parts of the country except Northeast India and Western Himalayan region.

However, there is no possibility of heatwave in any part of the country during the next 5 days. Strong surface winds (speed of 25-35 kmph) are expected in many states of North West India during April 11 to 13. In the plains of the country, Sikar (Eastern Rajasthan) recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 14.0 degrees Celsius. While Surendranagar and Ahmedabad (Gujarat state) recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40.2 degrees Celsius.
