IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand and Himachal, orange alert issued

IMD has issued Orange Alert for Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. IMD said that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for the next three days i.e. Sunday (July 16), Monday (July 17) and Tuesday (July 18).

New Delhi: Flood situation persists due to heavy rains in the northern states of the country. The situation is getting worse in many states including Delhi and Himachal Pradesh as people are facing difficulties.Many parts have been submerged. If there is a jam on the road, then many roads have been closed.

According to the Meteorological Department, the countrymen are not going to get relief from the rain at the moment. Rain activities can be seen in many states for the next few days. In states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, light-moderate to heavy rains can be seen today.

IMD has issued Orange Alert for Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. IMD said that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for the next three days i.e. Sunday (July 16), Monday (July 17) and Tuesday (July 18).

The Meteorological Department said that heavy rain is expected in Himachal Pradesh from July 15 to July 17. On the other hand, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha on Sunday. In view of this, IMD has asked people to come out only when necessary. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu told that the state has suffered a loss of about Rs 8,000 crore due to heavy rains.

Yamuna is in spate in the country’s capital New Delhi. Yamuna river is flowing above the danger mark due to which there is flood situation in many areas of Delhi. People are being taken from low-lying areas to safer places. Light rain activities can be seen in the capital today i.e. on 15th July. On the other hand, if we talk about the temperature, then the minimum temperature can be recorded here at 27 degrees and the maximum temperature at 33 degrees. Apart from this, activities of rain with thunder will also be seen in Noida and Ghaziabad.

According to Skymet, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain is very likely over Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa and Coastal Karnataka. Also heavy rain is possible at some places.

Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over South Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, East Rajasthan and Vidarbha. Light to moderate rains are possible over Northeast India, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and parts of Punjab and Haryana. Good rains are possible over Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Interior Karnataka and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
