Indore: In a bustling city like Indore, a tragic incident eclipsed the safety and trust of the community. A 20-year-old woman’s life was ended not in some random act of violence, but by her live-in partner, in a horrific twist of domestic disturbance. The deadly altercation, sparked by her refusal to engage in physical relations, came to a head on December 7 in the rented house in Raoji Bazaar area, which they had recently started sharing.
The serious reality of this incident did not come to light immediately, but two days later on December 9, when the lifeless body of the woman was found. The culprit, identified as Praveen Singh Dhakad, 24, originally from Guna district, reacted violently to her refusal. In a fit of rage, he slashes her neck with the scissors, causing immediate and fatal bleeding.
After this horrific act, Dhakad, in an attempt to avoid consequences, locked the house, confiscated the victim’s mobile phone and fled the scene. However, his attempts to escape justice failed when he was eventually found and detained by local police forces.
The couple’s relationship was born not in a traditional setting, but in the digital realm of social media. They met on Instagram, a platform that is often considered a place for harmless conversation, but in this case, it served as a harbinger of a tragic ending.
