Introducing Cyrus Mistry’s Sons: India’s Wealthiest Billionaires Under 30

The latest Forbes Billionaires List for 2024 has spotlighted the top 25 youngest billionaires globally, all aged 33 or younger, boasting a combined wealth of $110 billion. Among these young magnates, a significant portion inherited their fortunes rather than carving them out themselves.

At the forefront of India’s youthful billionaire ranks are Cyrus Mistry’s sons, Zahan and Firoz, both under 30. Together, they command a substantial fortune of $9.8 billion, with each inheriting $4.9 billion from their father’s legacy. Cyrus Mistry, the former chairman of Tata Sons, passed away tragically in a car accident in 2022, leaving behind a lasting impact.

Zahan Mistry:

Zahan Mistry, 25, is the younger son of the late Cyrus Mistry and an alumnus of Yale University.

Following his father’s demise, Zahan inherited a significant portion of the family’s wealth, including a share of their 18.4% stake in Tata Sons, a conglomerate generating $150 billion in revenue.

He also holds a 25% stake in the renowned Mumbai-based construction giant, Shapoorji Pallonji Group, where his uncle, Shapoor Mistry, serves as chairman.

Zahan Mistry is an Irish citizen and currently resides in Mumbai, where the family’s business interests are concentrated.

Firoz Mistry:

27-year-old Firoz Mistry is the elder son of Cyrus Mistry and holds a 25% stake in Shapoorji Pallonji Group, chaired by his uncle.

Upon his father’s tragic passing, Firoz inherited an 18.4% stake in Tata Sons, a pivotal player in India’s business landscape.

Firoz is actively engaged in plans to raise capital through the listing of Afcons Infrastructure, a privately held construction and engineering firm.

Educated at the University of Warwick, Firoz Mistry, despite holding Irish citizenship, resides in Mumbai, where he oversees the family’s business operations.

The Mistry brothers’ inclusion in the Forbes list not only underscores their substantial inherited wealth but also highlights the enduring legacy of their late father, Cyrus Mistry, in India’s corporate realm.
