Ranchi: In a heart-wrenching incident in Jharkhand’s Giridih district, a woman Afsana Khatoon has been charged with the alleged murder of her 2-year-old son. The tragic incident reportedly happened after a domestic quarrel which unfortunately culminated in the baby’s incessant crying while Afsana was on call.
The woman, recognised as Afsana Khatoon, had married Nizamuddin six years ago and the couple had two sons, aged four and two.
The complaint filed by the child’s grandfather, Rojan Ansari, details a series of incidents that led to the child’s death. According to Ansari, after a heated argument with her husband, Nizamuddin, Afsana locked herself and her younger son in a room on Thursday. Amidst this tense atmosphere, her son started crying during Afsana’s phone call and reportedly pushed her over the edge.
Afsana allegedly strangled her son in a fit of rage. This horrifying result came to light when Afsana called her husband into the room after the incident. He found his son unconscious, after which he was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Despite prompt medical attention, the child could not be revived.
Afsana insisted that she had not planned to kill her son, suggesting that the child’s death was accidental due to falling from the bed after she pushed him. However, officials are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident, including the postmortem examination of the child. The results of the investigation are eagerly awaited by everyone who hopes to understand the truth behind this tragic incident.
The police have sent the child’s body for autopsy and further investigations into matter is underway.
