J&K: Big success for security forces, 5 terrorists of LeT arrested

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday arrested five overground workers of Lashkar-e-Taiba, who were conspiring to spread terrorist violence in district Budgam. Weapons and some other objectionable material have also been recovered from their possession.

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday arrested five overground workers of Lashkar-e-Taiba, who were conspiring to spread terrorist violence in district Budgam. Weapons and some other objectionable material have also been recovered from their possession.

A police spokesman said that the police had come to know from their system that Lashkar-e-Taiba has prepared a new module of its overground workers in Khag area of ​​Budgam. This module is engaged in the preparation of plans to attack security forces and leaders and workers of some political parties in different parts of Budgam district.

Police activated their informers to catch this module and identified five overground workers involved in the module. After this, the police, along with the soldiers of 62 RR of the army, launched a campaign to catch them all. The campaign started on Tuesday evening and ended this morning.

The five arrested overground workers have been identified as Rauf Ahmed Wani, Hilal Ahmed Malik, Taifiq Ahmed Dar, Danish Ahmed Dar and Shaukat Ali Dar.

At the instance of these five, the police have also recovered a cache of weapons and other equipment. Apart from the terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba operating in Baramulla and Budgam, they were also in constant contact with the terrorist leaders sitting in Ghulam Kashmir. Police spokesman said that interrogation of all these is going on. Further details are awaited.
