Kamal Nath Criticizes Shivraj Chouhan’s BJP Manifesto for Madhya Pradesh Elections

In a scathing critique of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh elections, senior Congress leader Kamal Nath questioned the sincerity behind the promises made in the 96-page document.

Nath highlighted what he perceived as contradictions in Chouhan’s commitments, particularly focusing on the absence of any mention in the manifesto about the promised ₹3,000 under the Ladli Bahna Yojana, which was extensively advertised through hoardings and banners across the state.

Referring to the BJP’s manifesto pledge of providing pucca houses to Ladli Behna scheme beneficiaries and promising employment opportunities to every family, Nath accused the ruling party of lacking consistency in addressing the needs of the people.

The Congress leader reassured the women of the state, asserting that if the Congress comes to power, it would implement the ‘Nari Samman Yojana,’ offering ₹1,500 per month and providing gas cylinders at ₹500 starting January 1.

Nath, drawing attention to key issues, pledged the Congress’s commitment to waive farmers’ loans, fill vacant posts, supply free power units, offer reservation to Other Backward Classes, and reintroduce the Old Pension Scheme. He criticized the BJP, alleging that it replicated several Congress announcements, including financial aid to tendu leaf pluckers, financial support for women’s marriages, subsidized gas cylinders, and free education for girls and the underprivileged.

With Madhya Pradesh gearing up for the single-phase election on November 17, Kamal Nath expressed confidence that the people of the state would respond resolutely to the BJP’s manifesto and stated that the Congress is poised to address their concerns and needs effectively.
