Karnataka: BJP worker dies in hit-and-run accident during poll campaign, local party workers stage protest

Karnataka: BJP worker dies in hit-and-run accident during poll campaign, local party workers stage protest

Kodagu: A BJP worker died allegedly after a car crushes him during the election campaign in Valnoor village of Kushalanagar taluk of Kodagu district on Friday. The police have booked a case against three people and arrested an individual. BJP leaders and workers, however, gathered at the spot and staged a protest outside Kodagu police station.

An alleged video shared on social media by sources showed the BJP supporters and workers sitting on the street and sloganeering due to the incident. Police officers could be seen trying to pacify the protesters amid chaos.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under Section 302 (Punishment for murder) of the IPC against three people.

One person has been arrested in the matter.

The incident took place in Valnoor village of Kushalanagar taluk.
