Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Launches Yuva Nidhi. The disbursement of benefits under this scheme is set to commence on January 12, 2024, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. ‘Yuva Nidhi’ offers a monetary assistance of ₹3,000 for graduates and ₹1,500 for diploma holders who completed their studies in the academic year 2022-23.

Officials clarified that the financial aid would be extended to those who remain unemployed even after 180 days from the date of completing their degree or diploma. Eligible candidates must establish residency in Karnataka for a minimum of six years.

The unemployment allowance will be provided for a duration of two years from the result announcement date or until the individual secures employment or becomes self-employed, whichever comes earlier. The funds will be directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

The scheme excludes self-employed individuals and those pursuing further education. Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Sharanaprakash Patil disclosed that ₹250 crore has been allocated for the scheme this year, with an anticipated expenditure of ₹1,250 crore next year and approximately ₹2,500 crore in the subsequent year.

To avail the benefits, interested individuals can apply through the ‘Seva Sindhu portal’ or platforms such as ‘Karnataka One,’ ‘Bengaluru One,’ ‘Grama One,’ and ‘Bapuji Seva Kendra.’ The enrollment process is free of cost.
