Kerala: On Monday, a police official said that a National Institute of Technology (NIT) student committed suicide in Kozhikode district of Kerala in the university building located.
Kunnamangalam police said that the deceased was identified as Yogeswar Nath, who was from outside Kerala. According to the police report, the student died after he allegedly jumped from the building inside the campus.
A police official said, “Prima facie, it is a case of suicide. He was found dead after jumping from the building. It is suspected that he took the step around 5:30 am.”
The official added that further details can be disclosed only after a detailed investigated. After the incident, the Kunnamangalam police have registered a case of unnatural death and started investigations. In the last academic year itself, four students had committed suicide here.
