Campaigning for the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha Election 2024 concludes this evening. On June 1, voting will take place for 57 parliamentary seats across eight states and Union Territories. A total of 904 candidates are competing in this crucial phase, with several high-profile contests drawing significant attention.

In this decisive phase, 904 candidates are in the fray, with 13 seats each being contested in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, 9 in West Bengal, 8 in Bihar, 6 in Odisha, 4 in Himachal Pradesh, 3 in Jharkhand, and 1 in Chandigarh. Additionally, 42 assembly seats in Odisha will also be up for election. The vote counting is scheduled for June 4.

Among the most discussed is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s bid for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, which he is contesting for the third time. In Gorakhpur, BJP’s Ravi Kishan faces off against Samajwadi Party’s Kajal Nishad. In Mandi, the competition is between BJP’s Kangana Ranaut and Congress’s Vikramaditya Singh. Hamirpur sees a contest between BJP’s Anurag Thakur and Congress’s Satyapal Singh Raizada.

In Diamond Harbor, TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee is up against BJP’s Abhijit Das. Additionally, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter, Misa Bharti, is contesting from the Patliputra seat in Bihar.

Voting for the seventh and final phase will take place on June 1. The election results will be declared on June 4.
