Lok Sabha Election 2024: The Samajwadi Party (SP) has strategically nominated its State President, Naresh Uttam Patel, as the party’s candidate from the Fatehpur Lok Sabha constituency. Patel is set to file his nomination papers today, marking a significant move in the party’s electoral strategy. Nominations for the Fatehpur seat commenced on April 26, with the deadline set for May 3.
Naresh Uttam Patel will face off against BJP’s candidate, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, in what promises to be a closely watched electoral contest. The Fatehpur Lok Sabha seat holds significant importance, with its demographic composition playing a crucial role in shaping the electoral outcome.
According to the 2011 census, Fatehpur constituency boasts a total population of 26,32,733, with a substantial rural majority of 87.77% and an urban minority of 12.23%. The Scheduled Caste population constitutes 24.75% of the electorate, while communities like Kurmi, Nishad, and Lodh also wield considerable influence. Notably, approximately 13% of the voters belong to the Muslim community, adding a dynamic dimension to the electoral dynamics.
Voters in Fatehpur and several other constituencies in Uttar Pradesh will exercise their franchise in the fifth phase of polling scheduled for May 20. The Fatehpur constituency will be among the focal points of this phase, alongside other key constituencies like Mohanlalganj, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, and Amethi, among others.
