Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: In an unfortunate incident, an anti-demo vehicle leading the convoy of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath overturned in Lucknow’s Arjunganj while trying to avoid a dog on the road, resulting in injuries to 11 individuals, including five policemen. The convoy was en route to the Chief Minister’s residence from the airport when the accident occurred.
Details of the Accident
A stray dog appeared in front of the fast-moving anti-demo vehicle, leading to an attempt to save the animal. In the process, the fleet vehicle collided with another car, causing the overturn and subsequent injuries. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present in the convoy when the accident took place.
Injuries and Hospitalization
All 11 injured individuals, comprising five policemen and six civilians, were promptly admitted to KGMU for medical treatment. Senior officials, including Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad and DGP Prashant Kumar, visited the injured at the hospital.
Police Account of the Incident
Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), Lucknow, Upendra Agarwal, provided insights into the incident, explaining that the anti-demo vehicle lost balance while attempting to avoid the dog, leading to the collision with other vehicles. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties.
Akhilesh Yadav’s Response
Reacting to the incident, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav highlighted the stray animal menace in Uttar Pradesh, calling it a “dangerous truth.” He expressed concern over the accident involving the Chief Minister’s convoy and emphasized the need for addressing the issue of stray animals seriously. Akhilesh Yadav urged the BJP to learn from this incident, emphasizing the impact on people’s lives.
