Madhya Pradesh: Earthquake shocks in Jabalpur, magnitude 3.6 on Richter scale

MP: Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh was hit by an earthquake around 11 am on Sunday. The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 3.6 on the Richter scale. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said the quake was felt 218 km away from Pachmarhi. However, there is no news of any damage due to the earthquake yet.

MP: Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh was hit by an earthquake around 11 am on Sunday. The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 3.6 on the Richter scale.

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said the quake was felt 218 km away from Pachmarhi. However, there is no news of any damage due to the earthquake yet.

The National Center for Seismology has reported tremors in Madhya Pradesh after a magnitude 4.0 earthquake hit Port Blair in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on April 1. NCS said that on March 31, another earthquake of magnitude 4.3 struck Kargil in Ladakh.

Earlier on March 24, there were earthquakes in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.0 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was 28 km away from Gwalior and 10 km inland. On the other hand, earthquake tremors were felt at 10:39 am in the surrounding areas including Ambikapur of Chhattisgarh. Its center was said to be 11 km away from Bhatgaon in Surajpur.
