Shivpuri/Madhya Pradesh: In a forest near Sillerpur village in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, a grim discovery was made that sent shockwaves through the local community and beyond. More than 200 cow carcasses were found scattered in the forest, a sharp contrast to the usually peaceful atmosphere. According to the information received, these bodies were recovered just 500-600 meters away from the National Highway on the Salarpur road passing through Karaira tehsil on National Highway 27.
The incident, which came into limelight on February 18, 2024, has raised alarming concerns about the cause of death of such a large number of animals and the circumstances surrounding their mysterious death. Local authorities have begun an investigation into the case, as the cause of death is unknown, and the local village head has called for immediate action to uncover the details of this complex situation.
According to the sarpanch of the local panchayat, the huge number of dead cows is unprecedented and extremely disturbing. Dr. Vadil Jatav, a veterinarian associated with the investigation, suggested that the area may have been used as an informal dumping ground for dead cows from the nearby Karaira Municipality area. This revelation has added a layer of complexity to the case, indicating that the cows may have been taken from urban areas and dumped in the forest in the dark of night.
