Maharashtra: One dies after fire breaks out in container on Ghodbunder Road in Thane

Mumbai: On Friday morning, One person died after a massive fire broke out in a container on Ghodbunder Road in Thane, Maharashtra. After receiving information about this incident police reached the spot and body was sent to the hospital for postmortem.

Mumbai: On Friday morning, One person died after a massive fire broke out in a container on Ghodbunder Road in Thane, Maharashtra. After receiving information about this incident police reached the spot and body was sent to the hospital for postmortem.

The officials said that the truck overturned on Ghodbunder Road after losing control and caught fire. Thane Municipal Corporation said that the crashed container was removed by the traffic police with the help of Hydra and after three hours of effort, the said route was opened for traffic.

After receiving word of the accident, fire tenders, accompanied by a team from the Chitalsar police station reached on the spot. According to Thane Municipal Corporation, the heavy commercial vehicle was laden with goods when it lost control and overturned on the road connecting Thane to Ghodbunder Road.

Officials said a fire extinguishing operation was launched and the fire was brought under control. However, one person died of burn injuries at the spot, officials said, adding that police took his body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the container truck was removed by the traffic police with the help of a hydra crane and normal traffic was restored on the road after three hours, Thane Municipal Corporation officials informed.
