Manipur Election Update: Repolling Scheduled for 6 Polling Stations on Tuesday

The Election Commission of India has declared polling “void” for the Lok Sabha elections at six polling stations in the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency. Fresh polling is set for Tuesday (April 30), according to the Chief Electoral Officer of Manipur.

Manipur Repolling Scheduled for 6 Polling Stations

Voting happened on Friday at 848 polling stations in 13 areas for Outer Manipur’s Parliament seat. The first phase for the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat was on April 19.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Pradeep Kumar Jha, asked people to vote in large numbers on Tuesday at these six polling stations.

There were problems at these six polling stations on Friday, so the Election Commission wants them to vote again.

About 82 percent of around 4.85 lakh eligible voters voted on Friday in the remaining areas of the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency.

In the first phase, eleven booths needed to vote again because of things like shooting, scaring people, breaking machines, and taking control of booths.
