MP Lok Sabha Election 2024: Home Voting for Elderly and PWD Voters in Guna Constituency

In the upcoming MP Lok Sabha Election 2024, special arrangements have been made for home voting for voters above 85 years of age and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) in the Guna constituency.

The home voting process will be conducted in two phases to ensure maximum participation. The first phase is scheduled from April 26th to April 30th, while the second phase will take place from May 1st to May 3rd.

During a meeting organized to discuss the home voting procedure, Dr. Satendra Singh, the Collector and District Election Officer, emphasized the importance of thorough preparations. All Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) were instructed to organize polling parties, provide training, distribute and collect voting materials, and ensure security arrangements.

Additionally, preparations for postal ballots and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) voting were reviewed. AROs and Nodal Officers of Postal Ballots were directed to adhere to the Election Commission’s guidelines and facilitate voting for officers and employees engaged in election duties. Training for polling parties related to the second phase will commence from April 26th and conclude by April 30th.

Key aspects such as EVM commissioning, strong room arrangements, distribution of voting materials, and law and order were also discussed during the meeting to ensure a smooth electoral process.

To address any medical emergencies during the election process, the Collector instructed the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) to deploy mobile medical units in every assembly constituency. Adequate ambulance services should also be available along the routes of polling parties to ensure prompt medical assistance if needed.
