Former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik has been admitted to Criticare Hospital after experiencing a sudden deterioration in his health, as confirmed by his daughter. The development comes amidst ongoing legal battles and political controversies surrounding Malik and his family.
Nawab Malik’s hospitalization follows a significant decline in his health condition, prompting immediate medical attention. The decision to admit him to the ICU underscores the seriousness of the situation, warranting intensive care and monitoring.
Earlier, a special court rejected a plea filed by Nawab Malik’s son-in-law, Sameer Khan, seeking the unfreezing of his bank accounts, which were blocked by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with a drug-related case. This legal setback adds to the complexities surrounding Malik’s family and their legal entanglements.
Malik’s recent appearance in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly sparked controversy, drawing criticism from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Fadnavis raised concerns about Malik’s inclusion in the ruling Mahayuti government, citing unresolved allegations against him and the need for propriety in governance.
Nawab Malik has faced allegations of involvement in various controversies, including accusations of striking property deals with individuals connected to criminal elements. Fadnavis previously accused Malik of engaging in transactions with individuals linked to notorious figures such as Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, Haseena Parkar, further intensifying scrutiny on Malik’s conduct.
Malik, who is currently out on bail in an alleged money laundering case, continues to navigate legal challenges while grappling with health issues.
