Neiphiu Rio took oath as the CM of Nagaland for the fifth time, PM Modi and Amit Shah attends

Nagaland: Nagaland politics veteran Nephew Rio took oath as the state's Chief Minister on Tuesday. He was administered the oath by Governor La Ganesan at a ceremony held in the capital Kohima. This is the fifth time that Nephew Rio has become the CM of Nagaland. Senior BJP leaders including PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma were present at the swearing-in ceremony.

Nagaland: Nagaland politics veteran Nephew Rio took oath as the state’s Chief Minister on Tuesday. He was administered the oath by Governor La Ganesan at a ceremony held in the capital Kohima. This is the fifth time that Nephew Rio has become the CM of Nagaland. Senior BJP leaders including PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma were present at the swearing-in ceremony.

BJP included in the alliance has got the post of Deputy CM. BJP’s Yanthungo Paton was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister. The BJP legislature party unanimously elected Yanthungo Patton as its leader in the presence of its national spokesperson Nalin Kohli and observer Ranjit Das.

Like Meghalaya, two Deputy CMs have been made here. Along with Yantungo Paton, TR Zeliang was also sworn in as the Deputy CM of the state.

In the Nagaland assembly elections 2023, the state’s National Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and BJP alliance won the majority. NDPP had contested on 40 and 20 seats. NDPP and BJP won 25 and 12 seats respectively in the elections.
